Cosplay Hero
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Submission for San Japan 2023 Game-A-Week Game Jam. Cosplay Hero is a 2D platformer where you're a Cosplay Girl taking photos for Otakus (Anime Fans) while avoiding the dreaded Oni. Take as many photos with Otakus as you can and reach the prize at the end. Keep in mind, this game is an unfinished prototype, so it might contain bugs and may break.

Wow, you've got a whole level here! It's great to see some design work on these short term projects. A lot of the time, I'm always focused on mechanics and I never get a chance to do any level design.
I can see here that the platforming and camera implementation are flaky, and time was spent on the art and design of the experience. There's a natural progression to the level design and I can see what you were shooting for. The diversity of the enemies also add some texture to the experience.
I think what you have here is really good given the constraints. I'd encourage you to continue honing your implementation skills, and find new opportunities to flex your design muscle. If you can keep that up, I think you have great potential to be a game designer.
Thanks, I'm glad you noticed. I did spend a lot of time on the level design and character design. I designed the characters myself and used free assets for the level. I literally copied World 1 - 1 from Super Mario Bros, and for the code, I used ChatGPT to write the scripts. With the constraints given I had a huge time crunch ahead of me, so I worked the tools I have available. I had a problem with the WebGL but I glad I was still able to edit my submission and made it time.
